I just want to share a little bit about me. I’m a wife and a mother to 3 adult children and my own struggles led me to counselling some time ago which sparked within me a desire to help others. I love working with people and have supported those from different backgrounds. I’m passionate about what I do and I’m here to offer you a warm safe space where you will be listened to and accepted.
I have over a decade of experience supporting those struggling with different life issues and their mental health. I have supported people in a pastoral setting and through volunteering with charities and have also run a helpline coming alongside those in marginalised communities battling with suicidal thoughts, many being in crisis and coming from a background of trauma, I am trained in ASIST Suicide Prevention.
I am based in Royston Hertfordshire, and offer my sessions online supporting clients across the UK.
Somewhere warm and confidential where you will be listened to and accepted, without judgement.
You don’t have to share any more than you feel able to. It’s about meeting you where you’re at.
Counselling is a relationship where we work together, with your wellbeing kept as the priority throughout.

My special interest and experience is in working with those who have suffered from difficult and complex childhoods. I am passionate about supporting those who have suffered childhood sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and spiritual abuse. I am often working with attachment wounds, dissociation and the inner child. I support my work with specialist supervision and I continue to pursue training and develop within this area.
Maybe for you childhood didn’t provide all the things you needed and what you went through as a child and young adult are still affecting you today. Maybe questions run through your mind like, "Was it my fault?", "Why didn't no-one protect me?" or maybe you play it down telling yourself it wasn't really that bad and others had it much worse or you find yourself angry for feeling the way you do. Childhood trauma can show up as chronic anxiety or having a harsh inner critic especially when you have grown up feeling invisible, unsafe or walking on eggshells.
Childhood Trauma that is not resolved leaves invisible wounds that leak into adulthood but you may not connect them to the trauma from your past right away.
Whatever it is you’re carrying, you don’t have to face it on your own. Some of the things I often walk alongside people with:
Finding a way forward, together
Journeying with you towards Hope and Wholeness.

I understand the anxiety around taking that first step — it isn’t easy, but I would like to put your mind at ease and reassure you that you don’t have to share any more than you feel you are able to. I am here to help support you and offer you a safe reflective space where you can start to make sense of how you are feeling. It’s about meeting you where you’re at, with no pressure from me.
I trained as an Integrative Counsellor to enable me to bring together different elements of therapies which will help you to work through your specific struggles. Some of these include psychodynamic therapy that looks into childhood and CBT to help you understand your thinking and behaviour.
If you’ve suffered childhood trauma you may find it difficult to put into words how you feel; sometimes your emotions can become blocked as a form of protection. I like to offer creative interventions as I believe they can be really helpful in connecting you with those feelings and expressing words that are difficult. I have apps and tools to use specifically for online sessions if this is a way you’d like to work.
I believe that counselling is a relationship between two people, where we work together to achieve change. Therefore it’s important to me that the counselling I offer you is helpful and effective. You will be placed at the centre of my service, ensuring your mental and emotional wellbeing is the priority in any of the work we do.
I trained in Christian Counselling and have experience working with those who want to integrate their faith into their sessions. I have come alongside and worked with those who have experienced spiritual abuse and been hurt by church; I have also supported those in leadership who have been navigating difficult times.
I understand the importance faith and spirituality play in life, and I am happy to explore this if desired.
I work with and welcome clients of all faiths and none.

“For there is hope for a tree,
if it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that its tender shoots will not cease.
Though its root may grow old in the earth,
and its stump may die in the ground,
Yet at the scent of water it will bud
and bring forth branches like a plant.”
