Brain Dump

Journalling is a self-care tool, something we can add to our toolbox.

I took up journalling some time ago and found it very effective, I called it brain dump! It was a safe place for me to pour out all that was going around in my head and it felt better after, it gave my emotions a place to go, it wasn't something I did daily but I picked it up when I needed to.

There are many different ways people choose to journal and whatever way works for you is okay. Some choose to use it as a kind of diary, a place to log their daily life events and thoughts they may have been battling with, others dip in and out using doodling rather than words, but you can't get it wrong its about finding what works for you. There are lots of lovely journals you can buy some have prompts and exercises to get you reflecting on self, some log mood and emotion and have gratitude lists but I love to use just a plain notebook.

Journalling is good for your mental health, it is known for reducing stress, easing anxiety and gives you a place to express yourself, process, reflect and record. Journalling can help you to organise and rationalise your thoughts and help you to gain a better understanding of yourself.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.......
